Welcome to North Shore Images Photography. I created this site to share with you the scenic and natural beauty I find on my frequent visits to Lake Superior's North Shore as well as locations throughout and beyond Minnesota.

My interest in photography began as a youth, taking snapshots of family and places with an inexpensive point-and-shoot camera. My photography has grown up with me, and I now shoot with a state-of-the-art digital SLR with lenses among the highest quality. Much of my work is now the result of careful study of the lighting and composition of a scene as well as being on location at the right moment. On other occasions, I find myself making impromptu shots if the right subject or condition makes its appearance.

My landscape/nature photography experience on Lake Superior’s North Shore spans a decade. Even after visiting and photographing some of the most beautiful places in the United States, I am continually drawn to the North Shore’s diverse landscape, contrasting seasons, and unpredictable weather.

Being a photographer nudges me to seek the beauty in nature that I might otherwise miss. It motivates me to wake up for an early summer morning sunrise and endure ice and subzero temperatures to observe the winter full moon rise from behind Split Rock Lighthouse. My goal, through each image, is to share with you some of the finest moments.

My most treasured images are made during the so-called "golden hours" of the day - the hour around each sunrise and sunset. This is a time filled with not only soft, warm light, but also beautiful sunrises, spectacular sunsets, and majestic full moonrises.
