Spanning
across the shipping canal, the Aerial Lift Bridge is
likely Duluth's most popular and known attraction. It
was built in 1904, following the completion of the
canal, to serve residents needing to get to their homes
on Minnesota Point. A 1929 renovation overhauled the
bridge to its current configuration.
